    Silvers Lake, as its name suggests, is a haven for silverfish enthusiasts. The lake hosts abundant shoals of bream, roach, tench, perch, and pike—making it an attractive venue for both match and pleasure anglers alike. It's particularly well-regarded for its consistent bites and variety of species, catering to anglers of all skill levels.

    Among the highlights are bream that have been recorded up to an impressive 7lb, offering exciting sport on balanced tackle. The tench are another standout, offering great fun especially during warmer months. For those chasing predators, pike up to 13lb have been caught, adding an extra layer of excitement to your session.

    Whether you're fishing for weight in a match or simply enjoying a relaxing session, Silvers Lake provides an ideal setting for traditional coarse fishing with excellent returns.


Recommended Tackle:
  • Silverfish (Bream, Roach, Perch, Tench):
    • Rods: 10–12ft match or feeder rods
    • Reels: Compact fixed spool reels with 3–5lb line
    • Floats: Slim wagglers or pole floats for sensitive bite detection
    • Feeders: Small cage or method feeders for longer casts and deeper areas
  • Pike:
    • Rods: Medium-to-heavy spinning rods or dead-bait rods (10–12ft)
    • Reels: Strong spinning reels
    • Terminal Tackle: Wire traces, barbless trebles, and snap swivels



Recommended Bait:
  • Silverfish:
    • Maggots (red, white), pinkies, casters
    • Sweetcorn, bread punch, worms
    • Groundbait with fishmeal or sweet base, mixed with micro pellets or chopped worm
  • Pike:
    • Dead-baits: Roach, smelt, or sardine
    • Artificial lures: Spinners, crankbaits, soft plastics
