Angling Trust Supporting HAA
Working with the Angling Trust
At Highbridge Angling, we’re proud to be affiliated with the Angling Trust — the national governing body for recreational fishing in England. Their support plays a key role in helping us grow as a club, improve our waters, and create safe, inclusive opportunities for anglers of all ages.
How the Angling Trust Supports Us
1. Club Development & Governance
Through resources, templates, and direct guidance, the Angling Trust helps us maintain strong governance, comply with legal requirements, and manage the club responsibly. This ensures we remain a safe, well-run organisation for our members and junior anglers.
2. Junior Coaching & Safeguarding
They support our junior development with safeguarding frameworks, DBS checks for coaches, and access to qualified angling coaches — helping us deliver fun, structured sessions for young anglers in a secure environment.
3. Funding & Grant Access
By being a registered Angling Trust member club, we gain access to national and regional funding opportunities that allow us to upgrade facilities, purchase new equipment, and improve accessibility at our waters.
4. Competitions & Representation
The Angling Trust oversees competitions across the country and represents angler interests at a national level. Our members benefit from this by having a voice in the future of the sport and access to structured match pathways for juniors and adults alike.
5. Environmental & Campaigning Support
The Angling Trust actively works to protect the waterways we all cherish — fighting pollution, illegal fishing, and habitat destruction. Their campaigns support everything we believe in as a local club striving to look after our fisheries and wildlife.
